  • Identify a specific part of the book that caused an emotional response and explain how it made you feel and why ( something confusing, disturbing, humorous, etc.).

  • Did you like or dislike the book? Explain.

  • Would you recommend this book to someone else? Why or why not?

  • What are the themes or issues (world peace, friendship, good vs. evil, family, overcoming adversity, etc.)

  • What lessons or ideas was the writer trying to communicate to the reader?

  • Why are these important?

4. Quotes

  • Select a quote or part of a passage that sparks your interest or catches your attention. Talk about what emotions were going through your head at the time you first read it and how it made you feel. Explain why the excerpt stood out for you.

  • Copy the excerpt with the page number and who said it (this could be the narrator)

What makes a high quality blog entry?

  1. Refers back to the book

  2. Give 2-3 details or examples

  3. spelling/usage doesn't get in the way of meaning

  4. tells how you think/feel or connects to the world around you
